THAILAND COUP D’ÉTAT 2014
JANUARY 2014 - The Associated Press
THAILAND’S POLITICAL ROLLERCOASTER continued to dizzy the burgeoning country as protestors aligned to the ruling class and monarchy took to the streets in early 2014 to bring Bangkok to a standstill.
A carnival-like atmosphere of gushing patriotism, exhibitions, and endless marches designed to encourage a military coup against the then-Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra choked city streets.
Isolated instances of violence were dwarfed by the spectacles that ultimately led to yet another military coup later in the year.
